Plan20-50 Given First Reading
Plan20-50
Reaching a new milestone with
Plan20-50
We are pleased to announce that on June 13, 2024, the WMR Board conducted the first reading of the regional planning by-law, Plan20-50. This initial reading represents a significant milestone, advancing the Plan further along the adoption process timeline.
Since the second version of the Plan was released in fall 2022, it has undergone updates. These updates are the result of extensive feedback gathered through consultations at various meetings, public open houses, and information sessions with multiple stakeholders, the Board, and the public.
“We are incredibly proud of the regional vision that has been developed, with the input of many,” said Jennifer Freeman, Executive Director for the Winnipeg Metropolitan Region. “Plan20-50 is a 30-year framework to build a stronger economy and stronger communities, protect Manitoba’s resources, and create a better future for all. This latest version of the plan brings us closer to achieving that future.”
The next step in the adoption process takes place this summer, with the WMR holding public hearings. To learn more, visit our Stay Informed page on 20to50.ca for updates and information.
